Track-only sportbike to be used in MotoAmerica Talent Series

Krämer Motorcycles announced a new APX platform of track-only motorcycles built around small-displacement engines. The first model on the new platform will be the Krämer APX-350 MA, which will be used in the 2025 MotoAmerica Talent Cup series. A prototype will make its public debut this weekend in Texas with demonstration laps during the MotoAmerica round at Circuit of the Americas.

A purpose-built racebike powered by a modified KTM 350 EXC-F engine. Krämer claims a peak output of 55 hp, with a curb weight of just 242 pounds.

Like other Krämer motorcycles, the APX-350 MA will be powered by a KTM-derived engine. In this case, it’s derived from the 350cc liquid-cooled DOHC Single that powers the KTM 350 EXC-F enduro. For the APX-350, Krämer replaced the 42 mm throttle body with a 50 mm unit.

On the APX-350 MA, Krämer claims a peak output of 55 hp at 10,700 rpm and 27 lb-ft. at 8,100 rpm, with the engine redlining at 12,500 rpm. The engine is matched with a hydraulic clutch and six-speed gearbox with a quickshifter with auto-blipping for clutchless downshifts.

The APX-350 MA will use a Mectronik MKE7 racing ECU with adjustable engine braking control, customizable throttle maps and a pit lane speed limiter. It also comes equipped with a Solo Engineering ECUMASTER dash with a GPS-powered lap timer which is compatible with various data-logging systems.

The engine is supported in a chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame designed to offer stiffness and torsional rigidity. To suit rider sizes and riding styles, the steering-head angle, swingarm angle and triple clamp offset, seat height, rearset position and clip-on angle and length are adjustable.

Suspension is fully adjustable, using WP Suspension components. Up front, the APX-350 MA uses a 43mm inverted open-cartridge fork, a modified version of the WP 6500 series with a custom top-cap to offer a wider range of preload adjustment. The WP monoshock meets the specifications set by MotoAmerica’s rulebook. Both the front and rear suspension offer 4.7 inches of travel.

The front wheel uses a single radially-mounted Brembo Stylema caliper matched with a 320mm rotor, while the rear wheel uses a 230mm rotor and Formula four-piston caliper. The 17-inch wheels are cast aluminum, and they come shod in Dunlop slicks.

The aerodynamic fairing is made of fiberglass, with carbon/aramid fiber reinforcing key mounting points. A central intake in front directs pressurized air to the airbox. A hallmark of Krämer, the tail section doubles as the fuel cell, with a 3.17-gallon capacity.

Krämer test rider Finn Chapman will be taking the APX-350 MA out on the track for a few demo laps on both Saturday and Sunday at COTA. The prototype will also be displayed at the NJMP round in October, plus select club racing events during the winter season.

Pricing for the 2025 Krämer APX-350 MA is set at $22,495. Those intending to race in the 2025 MotoAmerica Talent Cup will need to secure a deposit by Nov. 1 in order to guarantee delivery in time for the start of the season.

Development is on-going, so full technical specifications are subject to change. The specs for the prototype are listed below.

The power output is nothing remarkable, but with the light weight it more than makes up for what it lacks in tq and hp.
