Love the Little fella
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 19, 2014I bought it as my starter bike as a 36 year old man standing at 5' 6" super tall lol. The only problems I had with it was I left it on and it died. The gas tank is small and I seem to be refueling it more then other people. However, 2.1 gallons of fuel dont cost that much. I have taken it up to 84 ... miles an hour or so does not shake that bad at all. I rode it for 4 hour at one time and the seat hurts my but lol but that was ok I managed and I love riding it. Many other people say at first glance nice but because the way it sounds (not loud) they call it a mo ped and make fun of it because they all have sports bikes or bigger cruisers. Regardless performance I usually going about 65 - 70 mph and it does well. I am a US Marine and it is my primary means of transportation for work and any where.

Great bike to start with!!
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 23, 2012I started riding in april of 2011. I bought this bike at the same time. Got a used one with only 1006 miles on it. Right now i have 3100 miles on the bike. Thing i Love about the bike are that it is very easy to ride and can take really tight turns at high speeds. I love that it has 5 gears. I have ... gotten this bike up to 70 miles an hour on the highway and it still feels stable at that speed. I normally go out on the weekend with a buddy and we will do 150 to 200 miles easy. One thing i would recommend would be to buy a different seat or a seat pad. the stock seat hurts after a while.

What a great Bike!
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 30, 2010I have owned the bike for about 6 months and it's just what I need to comute back and forth to work (about 20 miles each way) It's very trust worthy and low maintence. If I had to put a negative on it I would list the small gas tank, I bought a 15 gallon gas can and just feel it up every 4 or 5 ... days. I have had it on the highway and it handles fine with good acceleration though I wouldn't want to take a long trip over 100 miles at one time. I use it as a true cruiser around town.

Women compliment Moi !!
By (I am an Owner) on Nov 15, 2009Checked the world of motorcycles off my bucket list at 64...'took a Rider Course, checked the change on my dresser, looked at my nine year old and said: That used '07 S-40 with 1700 miles on it should do just fine. Craigslist, one owner. What fun it's been!! Have done close to 4,000 this season; ride ... with some experienced Harley guys; they were in awe of this bike; "Heard about these thumpers, never seen one, not bad what you've shown us so far." I get double their gas milage (60 mpg ); & with the 5 gears I have no problem keeping up with them on the highway. Have had it up to 70 mph with lots of throttle left; juand when we're parked somewhere during a break in a ride, there's always a female who wanders up an says, "Nice bike!" The guys give me an envious hard time about that! The color is a nice blue...
Will no doubt move up to a bigger affordable bike in the future (Love that Honda Fury!); but it'll be tough to give up the S40! It does it all that I'm learning a bike should do and has no mechanical faults. 'And am I nuts, but considering a cross country trip on this bike!

Unique Motorcycle
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 18, 2009I bought it used from a Suzie dealer, had 3800 miles, now has 4600 in 2 months. I love it because its Unique, lightweight, and simple to maintain.
It feels a little short for me @ 6ft, but I'm not riding it 8 hrs a day, so it is just fine. There just isn't any other bike in its power/weight ... catagory.

My sweet ride
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 15, 2009I had a bike when I was younger after a nasty car wreck I had partial paralysis on my right side. No more leaning to the right side to hold a bike. I needed a bike I could put both feet down at the same time. At 4'll" the only one I fit well is the Suzuki s40. I have a beautiful cherry red bike ... that Is my pride and joy. She rides well and handle's well. The only think I would change is to make her a little louder so cars would respect my space better. Other than that I have no regrets at all.

It's good all around bike.
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 27, 2009This is a great bike. It's got over 8300 miles on it, and it runs like a top. I originally bought it to ride around town, now that I'm retired, however, my son has a Yamaha YZF and I've been to two annual meets with him. His club has adopted me, even though this is not a sport bike. I ride with ... them and believe it or not, keep up with them for the most part. It's great on the Tail of the Dragon and a good highway bike. It'll run down the interstate with the rest of them.

the perfect bicycle
By (I am an Owner) on Mar 07, 2009First of all, I don't have to pedal it. 2nd, it's relatively light and flickable. 3'd , where did i go on my bicycle when I rode it? To a friends house? To work? Usually , someplace I wanted to go .With take-off torque from idle and a nice buzz at highway speed-it doesn't shake the mirrors much-this ... is just about the closest I could imagine to having my legs powering myself to work. With all of the benefits of "experimentation". LOck up the rear at 30 mph-not recommended,but..... this is a great first motorcycle

rooky
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 20, 2008After 20+ years of not riding ,I decided to buy a Suzuki Boulevard S40.
Entry level cruiser. The bike is quite dependable and halls me around easily.
I weigh 200 lbs and I found that it works well for a quik trip around town and has enuf power for 2 lane highways
cruises at ... 55.60 easily and gets great gas mileage 60+ on the highway.
I am concerned that it starts in gear though and will have this looked at.
Have not riden with another person on the bike.
Would like to see better front fender.
one the extends down 4-5 inches more .
Bike is fun to ride and idles and runs very smooth for a single cylinder.
