Top 10 Products Seen At AIMExpo 2017 + Video
Now that AIMExpo 2017 is complete, we’ve compiled our choices for the coolest stuff we saw while perusing the show. While the number of new 2018 model-year motorcycles was limited because of the show’s early date, that didn’t prevent the show from reflecting a vital motorcycle industry. So, as we reflect on last week’s show, here’s a list – in no particular order – of the top 10 products that we saw at the 2017 AIMExpo in Columbus, Ohio.
2018 BMW C Evolution Scooter
BMW has brought its C Evolution electric mid-sized scooter to AIMExpo, and although we had information from BMW about the U.S. specifications of the C Evolution at the end of July, BMW tells us the electric scooter is now available for sale at select California dealers as a 2018 model with an MSRP of $13,750. We should see availability around the country in the months to follow.
Stacyc Electric Balance Bike + Video
This just in from the “I wish they had these when I was a kid” Department: The Stacyc Electric Balance Bike is almost too cool for words. In recent years, we’ve seen balance bikes gain in popularity among parents who want to introduce young children to bicycles in a safe, confidence-inspiring way. The low seat height allows kids as young as two years old to sit on the seat and propel the bike by walking. So, what’s a father looking for a way to involve his son in his love of motorcycles to do? If your name is Ryan Ragland, you combine the strengths of a balance bike with a battery-powered electric motor and create the Stacyc Electric Balance Bike.

2018 Suzuki News, Including Teaser Reveal Of V-Strom 250 + Video
Suzuki’s presentation at AIMExpo was devoid of new-product announcements, preferring to tout its recent offerings to younger and entry-level markets like the GSX250R and GW250s.
2018 Yamaha XSR700 Sport Heritage Revealed for U.S. + Video
After being available since 2016 in Europe, the Yamaha XSR700 is finally making its way to the U.S. and Canada. This new XSR uses the platform of the well-loved FZ-07 to create a retro-vibed roadster that slots into Yamaha’s Sport Heritage line.
2018 Yamaha XMax 300 Announced for US + Video
Yamaha is bringing the 292cc version of the XMax scooter to the U.S., topping its 2018 scooter lineup which also includes the 155cc SMax, the Zuma 125 and the 49cc Zuma 50F, Zuma 50FX and Vino Classic. The 2018 Yamaha XMax will arrive in dealerships in October with an MSRP of $5,599.
2018 Kawasaki KLX250 Announced + Video
After a three-year absence, the Kawasaki KLX250 dual-sport returns for 2018, now equipped with fuel injection. Arriving in showrooms in early October, the 2018 Kawasaki KLX250 is priced at $5,349 for the lime green color, with a special Camo edition priced at $5,549.
2017 AIMExpo Show Coverage
As predictable as the leaves turning in the Fall, the U.S. motorcycle show season begins this week with the AIMExpo. This is where the industry – and the lucky civilians who live close enough to Columbus, Ohio, to attend the public days this weekend – gives the U.S. market its first glimpse of what it has in store for the 2018 model year. While we’ve already had some announcements from BMW, with its K1600B introduction; Yamaha, introducing the Star Venture and unveiling the Eluder; and Harley-Davidson, updating its entire Dyna assimilating Softail line, that doesn’t mean the OEMs don’t have other surprises up their sleeves.
