The latest incarnation of America’s oldest motorcycle brand will present its new 2009 Chief Standard, Deluxe, Roadmaster and Vintage models at the corner of 4th and Lazelle in downtown Sturgis, SD. The first 500 people to stop by the Indian Chief show trailer will receive commemorative limited edition Indian Motorcycle Sturgis pins.

The 2009 lineup will be the first since the brand was revived by Stephen Julius and Steve Hesse with the backing of UK-based Stellican Limited in 2006.

Production began earlier this month, with a red and cream Chief Vintage the first production bike to come out of the company’s new facilities at Kings Mountain, NC. All 2009 Indian Chiefs will be produced in limited numbers.

The 2009 Chief Standard maintains the look of classic Indian motorcycles with its studded leather seat and optional valanced fenders.

Powering the Chief is an air-cooled 1,720cc V-Twin engine with closed loop sequential port fuel injection and six-speed transmission. The newly designed exhaust features an integrated three-way catalytic converter and heated oxygen sensors.

Suspension is provided by an inverted 41mm front fork with 108mm travel and a rear monoshock with 73mm travel. The Chief uses Brembo brakes including a four-piston caliper with dual floating rotors up front and a two-piston single floating rotor in the rear.

The 2009 Chief Standard has a ticket price of $30,999.

The Chief Deluxe adds a two-up seat, chrome brake calipers and additional dual-tone paint options and aftermarket accessories. The Deluxe retails for $31,999.

The 2009 Chief Roadmaster adds a quick-release windshield, chrome brake calipers as well as a two-up seat with backrest. Leather saddlebags are available with or without fringe. The Roadmaster will sell for $33,999.

The Chief Vintage comes with additional custom touches such as a metal tank badge, engine guards, chrome engine covers and fender tips. Deep valanced fenders come standard on the Chief Vintage. The 2009 Chief Vintage comes at a price of $35,499.
